Founder, LIDDO Initiative Africa
Monwabisi Qeki is a neuroscience student at Bucknell University and founder of LIDDO Initiative Africa, a youth-led movement advancing health equity, literacy, and safe child participation in Lesotho and across Africa. His programs include Mobile Literacy Libraries, the LIDDO Leadership Camp, and a long-term plan to launch Free Mobile Clinics offering mental health care, HIV/AIDS support, and general medical services in rural communities. Monwabisi’s work bridges grassroots leadership with global platforms, drawing from his lived experiences and his mission to empower youth as designers of their own future.
At the AI Expo, Monwabisi aims to speak on the need for inclusive, ethical, and culturally grounded AI that protects African children online and resists digital exploitation. He contributes to the African Union Child Participation Platform and advocates for youth-led policy co-creation across the continent. As Vice President of Bucknell’s Global Student Council, he envisions a future where technology uplifts dignity, identity, and voice—especially for those too often left out of the global conversation. His work calls for AI systems that ensure Africa’s youth are not just users of technology—but co-designers of its future.
